The recently renovated Hotel Royalton is located in the old quarter of Bayamo, just west of Parque Céspedes and dates back to the 1940s. It's excellent combination of accommodation and cuisine make it a popular spot in the city.
The Hotel Royalton is the home of legends and history rooted in a city rich in traditions and adventures since the time of its founding in 1513 by Governor Diego Valáquez. It is the birthplace of the National Anthem and the famous patriot Carlos Manuel de Céspedes. The town was burnt to the ground just before it was taken by the Spanish during the struggle for independence. The first slaves to be freed on the island were given their liberty at a site close to the city.
The hotel offers budget accommodations in 33 air conditioned rooms with satellite TV, radio, telephone, minibar and private bath. Other services include a restaurant, bar, cabaret, safe, parking, currency exchange desk and car rental services.
